This island is located in an archipelago on Georgian Bay consisting of thousands of islands. Familiar looking wind swept pine trees cling to the Canadian Shield outcroppings that emerge from dark waters in a part of Ontario whose breathtaking beauty inspired the Group of Seven.
The Island is two and a half acres of privately owned natural Canadian paradise. There are several buildings on the property and a nature trail that runs the perimeter of the island through forest, open grass, shore line and granite ridges.
The main house is a mid century bungalow with a semi open concept layout. There is a galley kitchen and several distinct zones both inside and out including two screened in porches, several docks, decks and patios as well as a primary bedroom with private deck overlooking the channel, forest and rocky shoreline across the water. The property includes a bunkie, a studio, a sauna house and an enormous shop with 12 foot doors that completely open one end of the building to the back bay and big water panoramic views. Inside there is an authentic looking taverna, a bunk house and a huge open area with tall ceilings for ping pong tournaments and dance parties.
The Island’s appeal and aesthetic is varied. Its situation on both a bay and a channel lends itself to a vast array of settings and shots. It can be a desolate and remote hideaway far from the safety of civilization or a sunny and popular Muskoka weekend getaway in the heart of Canada’s famous cottage country and endless other possibilities.
Only a 2 hour drive from Toronto, there is a convenient marina with parking and launching and is just a 10 minute boat ride to our front dock. There are plenty of accommodations on the island and use of various boats and watercraft for production water taxis.
Owners are easy going and accommodating and welcome previews anytime. They are happy to provide water transportation and island accommodation at your convenience.
