Is it really free?

Yes, the photo shoot is free, for eligible listings. We want your space to be successful, and it’s our way of saying thank you for being part of our community.

How long does it take?

After applying, most hosts get a photographer assigned within 7 days, but we may not always be able to accommodate host requests for photo shoots. If a photographer is assigned to you, it’s up to you and the photographer to schedule a time for the shoot. We ask that you have availability during daylight hours in the next 7 days. While most of the time we only need one photo shoot, we may occasionally need a second photo shoot to get good photographs of your space.

When will my photos be live on Set Scouter?

Once your photographer uploads the photos from your shoot, our team reviews them. We want to make sure all photos are amazing, so this might take up to 2 weeks.

What happens after I apply for a photoshoot?

After an eligible owner applies for a photo shoot, we retain independent, third party photographers to handle the request. If a photographer is available, he or she should reach out to you via the Set Scouter messaging system within 7 days of your request.

A photography shoot of an average home typically takes 30 minutes, while larger spaces can take up to an hour. Times may vary so please check with the photographer to see how much time will be needed. Ensure to set aside enough time to make sure you get the best photos possible. You may also want to clean and tidy up your space in preparation for the shoot.

After your shoot, photos are typically uploaded, reviewed, and made public on the site within 2 weeks. We review every photo taken by our photographers and only accept shoots that meet our standards.

Please note: We cannot provide copies of the photos without the Set Scouter watermark.

How should I prepare for my professional photography session?

Depending on your location and listing, we’ll assign you a dedicated photographer.

Preparing your space

  • Open any blinds or curtains to allow in natural light
  • Organize or put away objects that clutter your space
  • Remove any valuable you do not want photographed

How can I cancel or reschedule my photography appointment?

If you’re not ready for a shoot in the next few days, contact your photographer right away. Please note that you must cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled shoot. If you have questions at any point about your photography shoot or timing, please reach out to your photographer.

After your shoot, your images will go through an editing process and will go live in approximately 2 weeks. You can always check the status of your photography request or cancel your request by emailing [email protected]
