Gerard Drive is a peninsular road ending with a bird preserve, with enormous views of Gardiners Bay from our living room and back deck. Springs is the more rural section of East Hampton, an area renowned as an artists' colony and retreat. Our home is two miles from the Jackson Pollock House.
A typical saltbox-style Hamptons cottage with high ceilings, a custom tile piece in the dining area, airy kitchen; beautifully appointed with two fireplaces, three bedrooms, two baths, cherry tree. Best of all is the immediate sweeping view of the water upon entering. As befits the country home of the son of Random House founder Bennett Cerf, one bedroom holds a wall-to-wall bookcase.
