The Resort has been around since the 1925, where it started out with just a humble campground and has served the area as a resort for over 90 years. Big Basswood Lake is a significant feature of the North Shore of the Lake Huron area of the Canadian Shield. The incredibly clear waters boast an impressive depth visibility. Basswood's waters, derived primarily from lake-bottom springs, boasts an abundant fish population and surrounding forest cover. Pristine waters, surrounding forests, and outstanding rock formations create an appealing landscape that attracts cottagers and other vacationing visitors.
Big Basswood Lake is home to world class fishing in some of the cleanest waters you will ever see. On this pristine lake you will find a magnificent selection of native trout, whitefish, smallmouth bass, walleye and brook and lake trout. Our boat launch will provide guests with an easy access to the miraculous spring fed Lake.
