Hartford House was built in 1835 by future Civil War General James S. Wadsworth. It was modeled after Lord Hertford's Villa in Regents Park, London which the General visited on his honeymoon. The three-story home features soaring 15 foot ceilings with intricate molding and fireplaces. Think about the background of scenes from Downton Abbey or The Crown and you won't be far off.
