Built in 1901, the Opera House was once Town Hall and continues to operate as a thriving professional performing arts facility (at least it was until COVID-19). This exquisite historic theatre still contains the original chandeliers, stain glass windows and turn of the century seating. The beautiful wooden interior facilitates some of the best acoustics in Canada and is a pleasure to perform in and a great place to see a show. Fully equipped with professional lighting and sound, the Opera House produces its own professional summer theatre season, award winning concerts, plays host to the Muskoka Music Festival and various other events year round. Many legends have performed on this stage such as a young Donald Sutherland and countless others.
There is a good size freight/passenger elevator that goes from street to stage and all levels in between. The facility is also equipped with full touring power panel for mobile production truck. The Opera House is very versatile and great for television, movie or music video shoots.
