This remarkable Italianate Victorian gem was built by President James Madision's family in1886, hosted 18,000 troops during the civil war, and has maintained it's historic charm over the years. From the gardens, to the lily pond, to stone walls, hardwood floors, huge & soft wavy windows, to the huge trees that abound across the rolling landscape one cannot help but by transported to a time gone by.
