The Mill Loft Spaces

Thanks for taking the time to connect and look at this great location. You're more than welcome to come view the property firsthand if you'd like. This beautiful building is a renovated flour mill located in the hamlet of Whitevale, about 45 minutes northeast of Toronto. This heritage community is filled with homes built in the mid to late 18th century. We are no strangers to films/shoots in the village because of the old, gorgeous homes and the proximity to the city. The mill itself has four main areas that would be great for the right creative venture. Some areas are furnished currently and some are not. We are totally flexible as far as set design, so think of the space as an empty canvas in this sense, or feel free to use furniture or design that is currently in place. 1. The home loft. This has big 20 feet ceilings, lined with windows facing south and west. The natural light on this floor is amazing. The open space allows for set up of various kinds of furniture, and the kitchen is big and open for all kinds of shoots. The kitchen cabinets are currently a charcoal grey and a mustard yellow, which I think looks great. But they could be switched out for any other colour that's desired or dressed by an experienced set designer. 2. The office loft. The second floor has been previously used as an office space. It also has 20 feet high ceilings and big windows facing east and south and some smaller ones facing west. The boardroom area of this space I find particularly beautiful and the light that comes in is also really great. This area isn't currently furnished, which allows for a blank canvas for anyone wishing to dress it for a shoot. 3. The Art Room. On the same floor there is a smaller room with westward windows and slanted support beams that create a very unique looking space. The lighting and space in this area may be more suitable for photoshoots as opposed to full film productions, but again, we'd leave that up to you and your specific needs and ideas. 4. The Quilt Shop. Lastly, there is another open area with 12 foot ceilings, but that's also wrapped in windows facing north, south and west. We call this area The Quilt Shop because one operated in this area years ago. The exterior of the building is also beautiful, especially in the summertime. There is a vine wrapped gazebo, and old grain silos that emerge out of the well kept green grass grounds of the property.
