Historical Brooklyn Home With Unique Interiors

The space is a jewel box of a historical home from the exterior situated on one of the most beautiful and central corners of Brooklyn Heights. The house is set amid formal gardens and cast iron urns and surrounded by a late 19th century fence. Inside the house has been exquisitely designed to unify the history of the house with a modern mid-century twist which incorporates its historical finishes - such as the six working fireplaces. One of the most immediately striking details when you enter the house is the central staircase and large entry hall - which is in sharp contrast to the standard boxy layout of the normal brownstone format of the area. To the right is the dining room which also converts easily to a formal dining room as needed. And to the left is the kitchen, both containing gas fireplaces. At the far end of the kitchen is a second entrance to Sidney place. Immediately up stairs is the reading nook in the interior of the bay window which is upholstered in a variety of Schumacher prints. At the top of the stairs is a bedroom for two young girls, containing an en suite bathroom and most notably a vaulted reading nook. On the other side there is a family room which contains a full wall devoted to a three panel stained glass window which is back lit by a peer of Tiffany's. Both rooms also contain gas powered fire places. There is a full guest bathroom on this floor as well. On the third floor you will find a guest bedroom/ music room with the door to the roof deck. Across the hall is the master suite containing an office with a vaulted ceiling and a stunning mural of an oceanscape. There is an en suite bathroom and upstairs in the loft area on the fourth floor is the sleeping area. The house was featured prominently on the Brooklyn Heights Historical Association House Tour in 2009 following a painstaking decade long renovation by the prior owner.
