This late 1800's creole cottage features three private bedrooms with three baths, a loft sleeping area and numerous living and socializing spaces. In one of its many lifetimes this property was a former film studio which has now been renovated with modern conveniences while retaining amazing historic details. The expansive footprint of approximately 2500 sq ft of living area provides plenty of space for privacy and an open layout for gathering. Walking into the front part of the home is walking into New Orleans Storyville history: high ceilings with medallions, beautiful woodwork, fireplaces and wood floors. These front two rooms are both living and sleeping spaces, with a sitting area and sofa sleeper in the front parlor and a full size daybed with trundle in the library bedroom. Adjacent to the library bedroom is a bathroom with clawfoot tub. The expansive kitchen is equipped with modern conveniences, stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher to make cleanup a bit easier. The dining room and wet bar make entertaining and socializing oh so fun and easy. The living room hosts a comfortable moon shaped couch which is flanked by colorful New Orleans Musical Art. The first floor has a quaint and comfortable queen bedroom with a fabulous bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower. This bathroom is also nearby the living room for easy access. Upstairs is home to a spacious master bedroom with a wonderful sitting area. The master bath is split with a shower and sink on one side and a separate toilet and wash area on the other. Upstairs across a long hall from the master, the loft is equipped with two daybeds. While the bedrooms are private, the open floorplan of the kitchen, dining and living room is perfect for entertaining, community building and hanging out. Each floor has its own central air and washer/dryer are located upstairs. My home reflects my many adventures and the spirit of New Orleans that I love - full of color, texture, music and culture. While the house is beautiful and spacious, the outdoor space is the hidden gem of the home. The couch and table offer a sweet garden breakfast spot, with additional seating to chill with a drink in the shade on those hot New Orleans days and beautiful nights. The covered patio has a large hot tub, for relaxing after those long days on plantation tour or in the swamp, or nights dancing in the clubs to some of New Orleans finest musicians. Our home is a hidden gem, tucked in a residential neighborhood, but close to the action of the French Quarter and Frenchman Street. Neighborhood restaurants, bars and coffee shops are within a few blocks, and live music on Frenchman is just a short walk away. The Bywater is one of the historic residential districts that is one of the creative centers of New Orleans and this historic home is a quintessential representation of that creativity.
