The property is on the national registry of historic homes due to its unique architectural details, dating back to the early 1900s. It is a magical space with details unlike any other home. Notable early residents to the area included Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, Bette Davis, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, Carmen Miranda, William Faulkner, and Carole Lombard to name a few. It is said that Norma Shearer met her husband, Irving Thalberg at the house. The house is now the oldest surviving structure in Whitley Heights, dating back to 1913.
