Play Horse Shoes in the Summer & Go Snow shoeing in the winter Just 5kms away is hundreds of acres of York region forest{Brownhill Tract] trails to get your run or snowshoe in! (We provide the snow shoes) Feel safe and secure behind automatic gates 1000' off the road yet less than 10 minutes from two towns (Keswick and Sutton). The Cabin In the Woods is a hybrid cabin... with its own private trails built for your pups- Right outside your door or drive 5kms down our road to York regional forest for 200 acres of groomed slightly hilly & sandy trails. - Solar powered lights/ceiling fan & cell phone chargers Propane heat/stove/On demand hot water, the plugs are 120v so please turn off lights in the rooms your not in. Although it looks like a wood stove - Your main source of heat is a thermostatically controlled Propane stove-[Not wood] Book your time in the Cabin when the moon is full to experience sleeping under two huge skylights as the moon passes over you and as an added bonus hear the Coyote’s howling off in the distance! Although you can hear them year round- but... you will not see them. We have a resident Barred owl who resides in a tree near The Cabin's driveway and not only will you her her at night- You'll see her during the day around the cabin. Sometimes she fly's just above your car driving in! In the spring - you'll often have a resident Red Cardinal tapping on your windows. The Kitchen is fully stocked for cooking with many pots /pans/Dinner ware/Cutlery/Knifes. Make wonderful memories in The Cabin resurrected especially for You using a lot of the original wood and tin roof from the original homesteads cabin. Bring Slippers in the winter or make a Quick Polar dash in the snow to the Hot tub! -There’s a games loft ( scrabble, bridge. Bespoke puzzles, horse-o poly/Cards) to reconnect with your loved one and is attached to the Loft bedroom by a bridge! Yes, that's right- There's a Bridge inside the cabin! -Eat In the breakfast nook surrounded by glass on all 3 exterior walls. -We have a covered wrap around deck and BBQ to enjoy a southern wooded, very private oasis right beside the hot tub. Enjoy Smores on the outside firepit. We supply the first nights wood but You should pick up some more firewood on the way up. Dogs are welcome - But Please let us know in advance! If 100% wifi/Internet is imperative for you to work -you can either add extra data during your stay or go to the local Tim Hortons coffee shop 7 Kms away in Sutton. NO Candles, incense or open flame of any kind.- After all The Cabin is all wood both inside and out! Please bring battery operated flickering candles instead- But you do have the propane fireplace for heat and ambiance all winter as well.
