Historic Craftsman Bungalow, Pacific Northwest Cottage Surrounded By Live Oaks In Orlando, Fl

Welcome to our historic reproduction home in Sanford, FL! We worked night and day for 2 years to build this labor of love. Initially, the front of the lot (where the house is now) was empty, and the back of the lot has a 2-story carriage house/apartment that is 560 sq ft on both floors. In 2019, we renovated the carriage house apartment, moved into it, and used the downstairs garage as storage while we carried out the vision for our Craftsman bungalow. We finished construction in 2021 and were told we ended up with more of a Pacific Northwest cottage feel, but any way you describe it, our home is unique! The exterior of the home features large stained glass windows, a fall-themed color palette, and my grandmother's front porch swing. The property is surrounded by a custom-built fence with repurposed, antique gates entrances on both sides. As you enter the front door, you are transported into a large, open living room and kitchen area with a very large island perfect for cooking while the children do their homework or put together puzzles. Just past the island is a built-in dining nook nestled in front of the iron-railed staircase. As your gaze lingers on the open living area, all the details of the home begin to come to life! Most of the light fixtures are re-wired antiques and even the plug outlet covers are vintage treasures. All of the doors are architectural salvages, and the different-sized, fully-trimmed and stained wood openings add a whimsical feel to the journey through the home. The downstairs guest bedroom features an in-wall murphy bed and antique stained-glass windows, which are family heirlooms from New Orleans, LA. In the back of the home, you will take one step down into a beautiful sunroom with large windows peering out onto the many live oak trees and bougainvillea. As you turn around, you will be surprised to notice a reading nook built into the wall with a circular, porthole window and a starry wallpapered ceiling. As you travel up the stairs, you are accompanied by windows and greenery every step of the way. The staircase is designed to look like the balcony of a city with exterior doors leading into the man cave and the master bedroom. In the master bedroom, you will find an arched ceiling with beautiful wood beams. The Indonesian furniture adds a sense of travel and adventure to the experience. The master bathroom features antique, olive green, mismatched sinks and beautiful birch tree wallpaper. We hope you enjoy the photos of our masterpiece! Thank you for your time! It has a large historic district with beautiful, unique homes and the downtown is lively with breweries, restaurants, boutiques and more.
