Our home is a freshly renovated West Coast Cedar sided home built in a similar floor plan to a Vancouver Special. The living space is down one side of the house, and the bedrooms down the other. The living space is open concept, only interrupted by a free standing brick fireplace. The front of the house faces north with a vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows. The back of the house, facing south, has a retractable glass wall that opens to the loveliest view of layered backyards in a block of the city that does not have any lanes or alleys. There are character homes and apple trees and poplars for 100 m behind the house that create an amazing view.
The house is finished with travertine wall tile, strand woven bamboo, and a butcher block island with a hammered copper range hood. It is an amazing, generous kitchen. The bathrooms again, are finished with a variety of tile that is reminiscent of an Italian villa on the Mediterranean.
There is a balcony in the front with a view of the mountains, and a deck at the back for outdoor relaxing and entertaining.
