Cottage In The City

The exterior resembles a quaint English cottage with huge oak and pine trees on the property. Neighbours have said it looks like a Hallmark greeting card at Christmas! It sits mere yards from the entrance to a woodland ravine and 88 acres of natural city parkland and the Scarborough Bluffs. The property backs onto the field of a junior school so is very private. The home was built in 1957 and has a real mid-century vibe on the inside with two very large living rooms each with a fireplace . Every window looks out onto mature trees. The basement has huge above grade windows. The very large rec room, which I currently use for storage, is straight out of the 1960s with wood panelling. The living room has a wood burning fireplace and the family room has a gas FP. This location used to be known as 'Oddities Corner' as it attracted many artists. The street on the east side backs onto St Augustine's Seminary which is modelled after the refectory of Queen's College, Oxford and sits on multiple acres of green space. It's been called one of the prettiest streets in Toronto with each house being unique and sitting on larger than average lots. From late Spring - Autumn the street has a gorgeous tree canopy.
