The original cottage was much smaller than the house today. There was just one story with two bedrooms, and no bathtub or shower. In “front” of the house (i.e. the lake side), there was about 50 feet of grass before you walked down to the beach.
That changed in early 1973, when a historic storm on Lake Huron washed away huge chunks of shoreline, both on the Michigan and Canada sides. That’s why Hunsberger House has such a unique proximity to the shoreline: the lake carved away the front yard!!
We recently upscaled our entire three-bedroom, two-bath lake house for your personal enjoyment. Hunsberger House is nestled in a private community just 20 minutes north of Port Huron and seven minutes south of the village of Lexington.
Our spacious “cottage” offers up-close, wide-open views of Lake Huron’s grand beauty, arguably some of the best views along the Thumb Coast! Looking out the windows, you’ll feel like you’re on a cruise ship!

Productions may cancel their booking up to 5 days before their production start time and will receive an 80% refund (excluding Set Scouter Fees) of their rental price. Productions may cancel their Booking between 5 days and 24 hours before the production start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Set Scouter Fees) of their rental price.
