3-Story 1890s Home In Chicago Suburb

This is a mid-sized, three-story midwestern farmhouse with the warm, quirky character of a garden cottage. It was built in the 1890s by a dealer in ornamental woodwork; much of the original interior layout has been preserved though the wood trim has been mostly painted white. The wood trim in the entry hall retains its natural, honey-colored finish. The first floor has good natural light and is open and airy while remaining a cozy, intimate space. Film crews will find that the space is easy to navigate and will accommodate almost any production setup. The furnishings are eclectic, a mix of vintage, industrial and midcentury modern. Front door opens into a parlor with many windows, and contains a vintage cream-colored upholstered loveseat and an upright piano. The living room is cozy and lined with books in a vintage midcentury Scandinavian wall shelving system. Living room flows into dining room with a long industrial/rustic dining table, a wood fireplace/mantle opposite a bay window overlooking the garden patio. At the far end of the dining room is a reading nook with Eames chair, floor lamp and small bookcase with a retro late forties "futuristic" radio. Kitchen is renovated with large oak cabinets and new stainless steel oven and refrigerator. Kitchen turns a corner to become a mudroom by the side (alley) door, with a row of tall windows and skylights overhead. There are many windows and lots of natural light, with a garden patio on the eastern side and a wide service alley on the west side. Film crews will find that the first floor interior has a good flow with no doors separating the rooms, is easy to navigate and will accommodate almost any production setup.
