West-Coast Style Mid-Century Modern Gem

Hi, My home offers a unique space custom designed by world renoun architect, Eberhad Zeidler in 1972. I am the second owner and have lived here for over 25 years. Except for paint and maintenance, the house has remained virtually unchanged since it was new. From the street the house provides a low-slung unassuming look with board and batton cladding and a large picture window being the prominant features. Entering the double doors and standing in the foyer, you are two steps down from the main level and the ceiling is over ten feet above you. Your eyes are immediatly drawn towards the large fieldstone fireplace. It appears to wrap around the entire center of the house like a rectangular core. The next thing you notice is the giant cedar beams that hold up the exposed wooden ceiling. They cross the living room at regular intervals down the entire length of the house, 8 in total. From that same spot just inside the front doors, you also see the kitchen sitting area complete with a pedistal table and white plastic chairs. and original mid-century-modern light fixture hanging overhead. Going up and into the house, you explore the galley style kitchen with eight large windows running the length of the room. Under the windows is a long countertop with original stainless steel sink and built-in vintage Jenn-aire stove top. Across from the sink is the original GE wall oven and (updated) microwave above it. All the counters, and counter top is original as is the flooring. The family room had vintage venitian blinds and a 1970s teak wall unit taking up one entire wall. Other than paint and carpet, the two bedrooms are untouched from the original space including the ensuite bathroom off the primary bedroom which, except for the toilet and flooring, completely original. The house is in a U shape and the back deck wraps around a large (37'x18') rectangular pool with white coping around it. The large back yard is private and surrounded by trees.
